NexTex Innovations & Optimer Brands partner to launch the highest performing, natural moisture-wicking fabric to alleviate the apparel industry’s increasing reliance on chemical wicking finishes called TurboDry® drirelease® Wool Fabric Collection.

The collection uses patented technology at the fiber and fabric level that drives moisture away from the surface of the skin to the outer surface of the fabric. This aids in better moisture management and greater comfort while providing a whole new dimension to natural drying.

“This is one of the first times that two branded technologies from different companies have partnered to help accomplish the mission of reducing the dependency of chemical wicking finishes while enhancing comfort performance,” said Chad Lawrence, CEO, NexTex Innovations. “Our combined decades of experience in fiber and fabric development will help accelerate the adoption of more sustainable fabric solutions.”

“As a solutions provider of comfort, Optimer Brands continuously strives to enhance our promise of comfort and deliver innovative solutions to our brand partners,” said Lee Thompson, Business Development Manager, Optimer Brands.  “We are very excited for the official launch of TurboDry drirelease® Wool at OR Snow Show. The collaboration of TurboDry and drirelease technologies truly is a natural fit.”

Latest yarn and fabric technologies are combined to facilitate the production of a high-quality and sustainable moisture-managing fabric like TurboDry drirelease® wool.  The yarn technology uses the natural properties of special fibers meant to optimize wicking, fast drying and natural aesthetics. While the fabric’s ability to drive moisture away from the skin is powered by capillary forces engineered into the fabric through a variety of processing techniques used in knitting.

TurboDry drirelease fabric also reduces the High Index Material Score through the following ways:

– Reduced usage of chemicals to achieve moisture-wicking properties

– Ability to use sustainable material such as recycled polyester and nylon, RWS wool, BCO Cotton, Organic cotton

– Permanence of the one-way moisture performance for the life of the product

– Leverage of the blue sign® and OKEO-Tex® supply chains

NexTex claims that the new one-way moisture movement technology in the TurboDry drirelease® wool collection leaves the wearer drier next to the skin as compared to fabrics of similar weight and construction.
