TRSA Announces Inaugural Workwear and Facility Services 2020 Conference

Evanston, IL – The Association for Linen, Uniform, and Facility Services has announced this week that it will be hosting its 2020 Inaugural Workwear and Facility Services Conference on Sept. 22-23, 2020 at the Embassy Suites O’Hare-Rosemont in Rosemont, IL.

Unlike similar events of this year, the conference is expected to move forward amid growing COVID-19 concerns.

The in-person event will provide attendees the unique opportunity to learn from and network with executives and management colleagues within the uniforms, workwear, garments, and facility service spaces to businesses, manufacturing, and food processing and more.

The conference will offer general sessions and interactive panels for sharing best practices, emerging issues, and the latest industry innovations.

Participants will gain applicable and practical knowledge, skills, strategies, and more to advance their own understanding and knowledge of workwear and facilities processing, service, and management.  

Individuals who earned the TRSA Certified Professional Laundry Manager (CPLM) designation can up to 12 credit hours toward recertification by attending the Inaugural Workwear and Facility Services Conference’s educational sessions and plant tours.

Kicking with an executive panel discussion on COVID-19 and Plant Operations that will provide insights into how COVID-19 has transformed the production and labor markets for national uniform service chains and their perspectives on how the global pandemic could impact the practices of plant operations relating to hygiene, supplying facility services, products, and more.

The current panelists have been scheduled:

  • Jim Buik, TRSA Chairman and President of Roscoe Co., will be the facilitator
  • Bill Ross, Senior Vice President of UniFirst Corp.
  • Stefan Schurter, Senior Vice President of cleanroom services at Prudential Overall Supply®
  • Art Wake, President of uniform services at Aramark Uniforms & Apparel.


Among the topics that will be discussed are increasing revenue per stop, rerouted relationships, stockroom management, networking reception, and more. Conference speakers and presenters are experts from the line, uniform, and facility services industry who will identify a wide range of challenges in keeping laundries operational and profitable.

The conference will close with a first-hand look at Roscoe Co., and UniFirst Corp. plants and these tours and debriefing sessions will expand on business philosophy and current use of technology impact operations.
