When it comes to technology, Fechheimer has certainly seen many generations of innovation over the past 160 years. Since 1842, Fechheimer Bros. has long been recognized as a leader in uniform manufacturing. Collectively Flying Cross, the firms most recognizable brand name acquired several years ago, and Fechheimer combine 220 years of experience in the design of shirts, trousers, outerwear and dress uniforms.

We have always maintained a broad selection of fabrics and weave in a full range of mens and womens sizes, all designed to keep the wearer looking their sharpest and feeling their best in any climate, says Fred Heldman of Fechheimer. Technology obviously plays a role in making that happen.

For todays work-related environment, Fechheimer has been integrating the technology found in Milliken & Companys VISA System 3 (V3) polyester into many of the apparel items it manufactures.

The technology built into the V3 fabrics delivers the three key benefits we look for in uniform fabric, explains Heldman.

There is no question that todays uniform buyer is looking for performance technology in all the products they purchase. Many garments are available on the market that promise one or two performance characteristics, but Fechheimer looks for, and demands, a higher performing product.

Using the proprietary technology found in the V3 system, Fechheimer delivers essential performance to end-users. The following describes each of the three key elements in the system.

1) Moisture Management
Millikens unique Moisture Management technology provides several key benefits.

Drying RateV3 garments dry at a rate twice as fast as competitive products. The garment dries quickly during active periods of time, so the wearer stays more comfortable.

WickingV3 garments transport moisture three times faster than competitive products. Sweat is quickly absorbed and transported away from the body.

ComfortThe wicking and drying rate provide for a superior comfort level. The garment stays dry and comfortable throughout the day.

2) Stain Management
Using the expertise in VISA technology, V3 provides permanent soil release and prevents redeposition. Garments stay clean looking and professional for the life of the garment.

3) Softer to the touch
Milliken reports that independent tests determined four out of five police personnel preferred the softer feel of garments using V3 technology.

Another technological consideration for any uniform garment is the ease of care. Flying Cross by Fechheimer shirts and/or trousers are all machine wash, dry and wear items. No ironing needed. This has proven to be a significant advantage for the law enforcement market. Not only has the VISA fabric been able to retain its resilience and colorfastness wash after wash, but it breathes to give year-round comfort in many different climates.

Flying Cross by Fechheimers Polyester shirts for men and women are available in a broad range of colors. Likewise, the trousers also carry many features along with a variety of colors and weaves.
