The British Royal Marines Commandos are popular for being one of the toughest and elite forces in the world and are known to operate in extremely harsh conditions like the polar and tropical regions.

Such extreme exploits would also require uniforms that can brave through such harsh conditions. So, the British Royal Marines have chosen the Cordura Nyco for this pursuit.

Cordura Nyco is a durable fabric with high-performance characteristics. As reported by Army Recognition, this durable fabric will be used for next-generation British Royal Marines Commandos uniform.

In addition to its enhanced durability, Cordura NYCO is also a foundation for lightweight, comfort stretch, higher tear-strength, faster-drying, and more breathable property uniform when compared to a nylon-cotton uniform.

The uniforms will be designed and manufactured by Crye Precision and distributed by Level Peaks in contract with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency.

Reportedly, the Cordura NYCO fabric used in the new uniforms were issued as part of the Future Commando Force initiative.

The initiative is designed to modernize how the Royal Marines operate and is known to be the most significant transformation and rebranding program since the Second World War.

The new uniform boasts of individual Combat and Field ensembles made by Crye Precision’s comfort weave MultiCam VTX Ripstop stretch Cordura NYCO fabric using Invista’s T420HT high tenacity nylon 6,6 fiber blended with cotton.

The uniform is printed by Crye Precision’s MultiCam camo pattern by 1947 LLC under an exclusive international manufacturing license agreement.
